Export a conversation

Use Chrome 120 or newer and an internet connection. No Chat to PDF account or payment is required.

  1. Open a conversation on chatgpt.com. If the tab was already open when you installed or updated the extension, reload it.
  2. Open the Chat to PDF controls. Choose all loaded messages, ChatGPT responses only, or individual messages to include.
  3. Open PDF settings if you want to change the paper size, orientation or margins, then request the export.
  4. On your first export, read the notice about processing on our server. You can cancel or confirm, and choose whether to remember your acknowledgment.
  5. Save the PDF returned to your browser. Check the resulting document before sharing it.

If something goes wrong

The controls do not appear

Reload the ChatGPT page after installing or updating the extension. Make sure you are viewing a conversation on a supported ChatGPT page in Chrome.

The service is busy or unavailable

Check your internet connection, wait a moment and retry. For a very long conversation, try a smaller selection. Failed exports are refunded by the server; recovery can take a short time after an interrupted request.

You reached the free allowance

The free launch allows up to 10 exports per UTC day and 100 per UTC month, shared by people on the same network. Wait until the reset time shown in the extension, which is displayed in your local time. No subscription or payment is required, and there is no paid bypass.

Messages, images or formatting are missing

Only messages currently loaded on the page can be included; earlier history is not fetched automatically. Load and check the content you need, or export a smaller selection. Supported formulas are preserved when available. Some externally hosted images cannot be read by the browser and appear as placeholders. Complex layouts may not reproduce exactly.

Before exporting sensitive content

Review exactly which messages are selected. The selected content, document title and PDF settings are sent to our server over HTTPS to create your PDF.
